Новинка получила циклопический проектор фар, обрамлённый двумя светодиодными элементами, а ещё светодиодные поворотные сигналы. Кроме того, обновлённый байк обзавёлся модернизированной тормозной системой, новым LCD-экраном и коническим алюминиевым рулём.

Что касается технического оснащения рестайлингового MT-07, то оно осталось прежним, то есть, мотоцикл по-прежнему комплектуется 689-кубовым двигателем производительностью 75 л.с. При этом специалисты Yamaha доработали мотор, изменив воздуховоды, модернизировав ЭБУ, оптимизировав параметры впрыска топлива и добавив новую выхлопную систему.
Байк также обладает телескопической вилкой спереди, регулируемым моноблоком сзади, 17-дюймовыми колёсами и ABS. В свою очередь, торможение модели обеспечивают диски на 298 мм с двумя 4-поршневыми суппортами спереди и диски на 245 мм с однопоршневым суппортом сзади. Наряду с этим мотоцикл стал тяжелее на полтора килограмма в сравнении с предшественником, и теперь его вес составляет 184 кг.
